UNIFORM POLICY - Year 2008-2009

RED, NAVY, & LIGHT BLUE - Polo style shirts and tailored clothing are our uniform choices and the styles are identified in the FRENCH TOAST CATALOG. A plaid skirt and jumper are also selected for the girl's choice in clothing but the color may only be the dark blue/red plaid.

Boys - Kindergarten-1^st grade:

Long pants, shorts (above the knee), vests, and sweaters. May wear shirt outside of pants.

Girls -Kindergarten-1^st grade:

Long pants, skorts, skirts, shorts (above the knee), vests, jumpers, and sweaters.

**"'Special Note***

All kindergarten and 1^st grade students should have uniform clothing that has at least partial elastic at their waistline. These dear little children often struggle to get belts, buttons, and zippers open and end up having bathroom accidents.

Boys – 2^nd  thru 6^th grades:

Long pants, shorts (above the knee), vests, sweaters, belts. Shirts must be tucked in.

Girls - 2^nd thru 6^th grades:

Long pants, skirts, skorts, jumpers, vests, sweaters, shorts (above the knee). Skirts, skorts, and jumpers may be plaid but only navy and red. Shirts must be tucked in.

Larger or husky sizes: Regardless of grade level:

Children who are more comfortable in a husky or larger size are required to wear pants/shorts that have at least a partial elastic waistline. Their pants must be worn at the tummy level as all other students and their shirts must be tucked in.

Outerwear: (all grade levels)

Student cardigans, v-neck sweater vests along with the hooded nylon windbreaker available at www.frenchtoast.com are the only acceptable outerwear for our students.

SHOES AND ACCESSORIES

Safety is important to you and to the school. Hanging down cloth belts can cause injury so they are not permitted. Jewelry of any type is not permitted and that does include watches. We make a very limited exception to earrings. Girls are allowed to wear stud earrings ONLY. Absolutely no dangling earrings will be allowed. Tennis shoes or dress shoes, that tie or buckle, with socks are the only choice for shoes. NO heels, boots, open toe, slip-ons, crocs or sandals are allowed. "DON'T WEAR" LIST: In addition to the uniform requirements above, please note that the following clothing items are not permitted. They include wide leg pants or shorts, cargo pants, shorts below the knees, clothing that is too large for the student, dropped crotch, no T-shirts, no jeans, or torn clothing, multicolored tights or knee socks. NO EXCEPTIONS. Plan ahead. Students not in uniform will not be permitted on campus. You will be called to pick your children up if they are out of uniform.

Students must NOT bring toys or balls to school.
